Latest Updates from Our Project:

League of Infamy and Vanguard crossover!
over 4 years ago – Mon, Nov 04, 2019 at 03:30:32 PM

Ho! Vanguardians,

We're getting in touch today to let you know about our latest Kickstarter project: League of Infamy - the occasionally co-operative dungeon crawler. Take a look here.

Designed by Sophie Williams and James M. Hewitt from Needy Cat Games, this is a dungeon crawler like no other. Join a rogue’s gallery of misfits, ne’er-do-wells and miscreants on a disgraceful mission to kidnap cute little baby Drakons, steal their eggs and viciously wipe out any irritating, goody-goody Elves that try to stop your nefarious schemes.

But it’s not just the Elves you’ll need to keep a wary eye on. Your fellow (mis)adventurers are just as likely to betray you and steal your loot, shove you into harm’s way or just leave you in a dungeon full of unbeatable foes. As they like to say in the League of Infamy – ‘keep your enemies close but keep your friends at knifepoint’.

League of Infamy is also infinitely replayable. No mission will ever play the same, thanks to randomly generated rooms, optional Defenders and a cast of wicked villains. Plus, play through a campaign where your character will learn new skills and uncover valuable loot to add to their armoury.

LEAGUE OF INFAMY VILLAINS IN VANGUARD!

We always like to make sure that our miniatures can be used in multiple games - after all, you spend all the time painting them, so you should be able to use them in lots of games! With that in mind we will be producing Vanguard rules for the Villains from League of Infamy. Some will be mercenaries and others will become named characters in the warbands.

All of these stats will be available for FREE from the website next year once the Kickstarter starts shipping. How exciting! So, not only are you getting a great game, you're getting a bunch of mercenaries too. We've already got 13 Villains in the core pledge - so that's 13 new Vanguard characters for you to use.

The Kickstarter campaign has just over a week to go and we've already added 20 stretch goals. Check it out here.

Need more scenery for your Vanguard games?

Ho! Vanguardians,

Hope you've all been enjoying playing Vanguard since pledges were delivered. We've really enjoyed seeing all the battle reports and paint jobs on social media. This year we've got a lot of great stuff planned for Vanguard, including...

EQUIPMENT CARDS

To make it easier to see what equipment your units are using, we've just released the Equipment Card deck. This includes all the items from the rulebook, along with a few extras too! They're available from your local game store or direct from the Mantic website.

WARBAND LAUNCHES

We've got four warband launches planned for this year, including:

  • Forces of Nature - April
  • Goblins - May
  • Trident Realm - July
  • Undead - August

Make sure you keep an eye on the Mantic Blog for more details.

TERRAINCRATE 2 KICKSTARTER

Finally, we're currently running a Kickstarter for TerrainCrate 2. After previously launching heaps of fantasy scenery in the original campaign, we're aiming to expand the range to cover a whole host of other genres.

Although we realise that some sets won't be relevant to your Vanguard games (although a Deadzone arcade machine is cool), there is the option to pick and choose the sets you want. Or you can even just pledge for 'no reward' and select the set(s) you want. Collections like the 'Gloomy Wood' below would definitely fit into games of Vanguard and the Morneville Church could easily be used as a Basilean church.

The TerrainCrate 2 Kickstarter ends on March 7th at 8pm (GMT). Make sure you check it out here.

Shipping is complete! Vanguard Q&A with Matt Gilbert
over 5 years ago – Fri, Nov 09, 2018 at 01:11:07 AM

Ho! Vanguardians,

Good news, shipping is now complete and all orders are either on their way or have already arrived. Heavier pledges over 2kg (such as the Giant Pledge) were sent via courier and you should have received a shipping notification once they were sent.

Lighter pledges (such as the Rulebook Only pledge, or pledges with just miniatures in, for example) were sent via Royal Mail, so you will not receive a shipping notification.

Although all the pledges have been sent, it can occasionally take up to 21 days for them to arrive at their final destination. With that in mind, please do not contact customer services about missing pledges until after November 26th. After that date, please email [email protected] with details of your missing pledge.

MISSING ITEMS/PROBLEMS/MISCASTS

If you have already received your pledge, please check it as soon as possible to ensure there are no mistakes. If you do find you've got missing bits or there is a problem with your pledge, please email [email protected] so we can sort it out.

Q&A WITH MATT GILBERT

Once again, thank you so much for supporting Vanguard. The response from the community so far has been fantastic and we've been delighted to see plenty of battle reports, hobby projects and excited list building across social media. We're expecting big things for Vanguard and we've got plenty planned for 2019 and beyond!

If you would like to hear more about the future of Vanguard, make sure you tune into the Kings of War Q&A live stream on the Mantic Games Facebook page this Saturday from 2pm (GMT). Matt Gilbert will be answering community questions and talking about the development of the game.

Shipping Update - 30th October
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 30, 2018 at 09:52:26 PM

Ho! Vanguardians,

It’s great to see so many packages arriving and people excited to be gluing models together and playing some games! The game has been really well received and is looking like it’s making a huge splash in the Kings of War universe.

We know some of you are still feverishly awaiting notice of shipping and are super keen to get the new goodies in your hands to join in the fun. Shipping is taking longer than we planned – the team is working through it and we should be done by the end of this week. Join the Vanguard pledges are now going out the door and the casting crew are working flat out to get the last resin bits done. The dispatch team have been battling IT issues and all sorts – none of which has helped us go any faster!

Rest assured, the boxes we have piled up are clearing away and we have room to move around – which means more and more is leaving the building and finding its way to you guys. There’s a lot more space than there was this time last week!

If you have had your delivery but have spotted something wrong (blame the pesky packing goblins that lurk in the shadows), please contact [email protected] and we will sort it out for you as soon as we can.

Thanks!

The Mantic Team

Vanguard Shipping Update - October 23rd
over 5 years ago – Tue, Oct 23, 2018 at 07:00:47 PM

Ho! Vanguardians,

A quick update today to let you know that the shipping process is well underway. We've already shipped the majority of the Rulebook Only Pledges, Two-player sets and Join the Vanguard pledges. We're also working our way through the Giant Pledges too - which make up the majority of the Kickstarter.

Currently the warehouse team is busy picking and packing the remaining Giant Pledges, alongside the more complicated orders with lots of optional extras. So, if you haven't received a shipping notification yet, don't worry! The shipping process is still ongoing and we're expecting to be finished by the end of this week - barring any more unseen problems (like FedEx crashing all the time... grrrrrrrrrr!)

We'll post another update once the shipping process is complete... and then you can start to worry if you haven't received a shipping notification ;-)

Please note that Rulebook Only pledges will NOT receive a notification because they've been sent via Royal Mail.

In the meantime, make sure you head over to our Facebook page to watch Vanguard live steams all week. What's more, we'll be hosting a Q&A with creator Matt Gilbert on Saturday during a special Vanguard Launch Event here at Mantic HQ. Stay tuned for more details on that.

Thanks for your support - and your pledge will be with you very soon!
